THE FUTURE
Transporting lorry loads of insulation along the motorways of Britain has a carbon emissions cost that is difficult to ignore. In the future it seems likely that insulation techniques will change to use more trapped air voids, and on site generated PU foams. There are even test being undertaken with vacuum sealed panels, though the practical problems of maintaining a vacuum in structural panels against the relentless onslaught of DIY shelf erectors and picture hangers suggests that this is one idea destined for the recycling bin.
